GMI S.r.l. General Montaggi Industriali’s history
Giovanni Paganini founded GMI S.r.l. General Montaggi Industriali company in 1979, thanks to his many years of experience in the constructions industry as a joiner, combined with the passion for his job and also his entrepreneurship.
It is no coincidence it has this name, because GMI was established as a company specialising in the civil and industrial assemblies sector, then expanding over the years to realise important turnkey jobs in the water (river and sea), port (manufacturing ship to shore gantry cranes and port machinery) sectors, as well as structural works such as bridges of various tonnage, water purification plants, industrial and civil buildings. In just a few years GMI became the trusted company of the main public bodies that maintain the territory of the Po Valley, allowing them to form a specialised team in the mechanical maintenance sector.
In 2006, with the untimely death of her father, the owner of GMI, 27 year old Emanuela Paganini, who had gained experience in other sectors, left her job to carry on her father’s business.
Successively, the company doubled its turnover, renewing itself completely thanks to Emanuela’s tenacity and courage, supported by her family and her closest collaborators; together they made the company grow. The right decisions and efforts have paid off, taking the company to the top in the industrial scene.
Through strong relationships with leader companies in the design of water purification plants and ship to shore gantry cranes, GMI is also involved in important international projects and in partnerships with leading global companies in this field.
GMI can cope with the most demanding customer requests, both in the public and private sectors.
